The project to implement nature-based solutions (NBS) at Galeria Factory Poznań involves the introduction of rain gardens, trees, shrubs, climbing plants and other ways of enhancing green spaces.
We have designed climbing plants on the façade, pergolas and trellises to promote biodiversity and reduce the urban heat island effect.
We are removing concrete to create new green spaces that are valuable to the ecosystem.
To protect water resources and biodiversity, we propose areas of natural succession in places where green spaces already exist.
We will plant trees and shrubs to provide shade and reduce the urban heat island effect.

What results have we obtained?
We have introduced 15 new species of trees and shrubs, and 25 species of climbing plants, perennials and grasses.
We have improved soil quality by aerating the soil and enriching it with plant species.
We have reduced the temperature by using pergolas, trellises, green wall, planting trees and shrubs.
Our solutions increase the site’s retention and infiltration area by almost 37%.
