Amber Kalisz

Kalisz

The project to implement nature-based solutions (NBS) at Galeria Amber in Kalisz involves planting trees, shrubs, climbing plants and other elements to enhance the green spaces.

What characteristic elements did we use in the project?
GREEN WALL

We have designed climbing plants for the facade to promote biodiversity and reduce the urban heat island effect.

ENRICHEMENT

We have used native plant species that coexist with the local fauna and require less water and maintenance.

TREES & SHRUBS

We have planted 9 tall trees and 67 shrubs in the existing green spaces.

GREEN ROOFS

We design new green roofs.

What results have we obtained?

1
SOIL QUALITY

We have improved soil quality by removing the compacted layer from almost 300 m² and enriching the soil with organic matter across more than 700 m².

2
BIODIVERSITY

We have introduced species found in the nearby park to support local biodiversity.

3
BIORETENTION

Our solutions increase the site’s water retention and absorption capacity by 17%.

4
TEMPERATURE DECREASE

We have reduced the temperature by green wall, green roof and new plantings,
