Gdynia
The project to implement nature-based solutions (NBS) at Galeria Klif in Gdynia involves, amongst other things, the introduction of a rain garden, retention greenery, new green spaces, pergolas, shelters with green roofs, shade walls, climbing plants, species enrichment, green roofs and a rainwater harvesting tank.
Around the shopping centre, we are identifying areas that can be converted from paved surfaces into new green spaces – a total of 553 m².
We are designing 2 pergolas with climbing plants above the footpaths leading to the entrance to the shopping centre, as well as trellises to provide shade over the car parking spaces.
We design solutions to support water retention across an area of 627 m².
We are designing a biosolar roof with an area of 3,200 m² and a retention capacity of 280 m³ on top of the existing reinforced concrete slab roof.

What results have we obtained?
We have designed 995 m² of species-enrichment measures for the existing green spaces.
We have planted 58 tall trees to provide more shade, as well as 277 tall shrubs
We have provided shade for 13 parking spaces and the pavements leading to the building’s entrances.
We have increased water retention in new and existing green spaces, including on the roof, covering an area of 8,253 m².
