Galeria Olimpia Bełchatów

Bełchatów

The project to implement nature-based solutions (NBS) at Galeria Olimpia Bełchatów involves the creation of rain gardens with a capacity of 135 m³, 34 tall trees and 57 shrubs in the car park, green walls covered with climbing plants covering an area of 1,411 m², green spaces enriched with diverse plant species covering 1,606 m², and a rainwater retention basin. We have carried out a feasibility study for the installation of an extensive green roof covering an area of 15,255 m².

What characteristic elements did we use in the project?
GREEN WALLS

We have installed them on the existing substructure and on the proposed grid between the columns of the front facade.

RAIN GARDENS

Their purpose is to collect some of the rainwater running off the car park. They are situated in areas where there are no underground networks and near storm drain inlets.

DEPAVING

We are designing 800 m² of new green spaces, particularly along the pedestrian walkway in front of the main entrance.

AREAS OF NATURAL SUCCESSION

In areas where there are existing green spaces – currently lawns – we are planning to introduce a greater variety of plant species.
