The project of implementing nature-based solutions (NBS) at Homepark Franowo Poznań includes the change of up to 43 tall trees and 96 shrubs in the existing green spaces, a 3,940m2 green roof, rain gardens, shaded walkway and flower meadows.
We have carried out a feasibility study for the installation of an extensive green roof covering an area of 3,940 m²
They are designed to intercept part of the rainwater flowing from the parking lot before it goes to the rainwater sewage system. They were located in places where there are no underground networks and near rainwater drainage inlets due to the ease of making emergency overflows.
We have planted 43 tall trees and 96 shrubs in the existing green spaces.
In areas where green spaces currently exist – which are now lawns – we are planning to introduce species diversification

What results have we obtained?
The introduction of rain gardens increases the bioretention capacity by 11.9%
We have provided a shaded walkway between Centrum Franowo and Ikea.
The installation of a green roof leads to a drop in temperature on its surface.
We changed lawns into flower meadows.
